Joumana Kidd is an unconventional figure with a creative passion which has already established her as a renowned sports journalist making frequent media appearances. Born in Foster City, CA, Joumana is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications and a minor in Cultural Communication. Ms. Kidd launched her career as a model while a student at SFSU. Within a short time Joumana landed a role as a “spokes model,” in which she appeared as a “Bud girl.”
Upon completion of her college studies, Joumana accepted an offer from Anheuser-Busch and joined the company as a marketing representative. This opportunity paved the way for her entry into the field of broadcasting and Joumana’s career began to flourish. Kidd’s broadcast resume includes the role of national news correspondent for both the entertainment TV news program Extra and NBA Entertainment. She has covered the red carpet for Extra at the Grammy Awards, The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductions and the Daytime Emmys. In addition to interviewing many top athletes, Joumana has held court with top celebrities from Robert DeNiro, Penelope Cruz, Colin Farrell and Tom Cruise to Jewel, P-Diddy, Jay- Z, Sheryl Crow and Sharon Osbourne. She also has appeared on NBC’s hit drama Third Watch.
Early in her career Kidd was the co-host of a weekly sports show, Suns Jam Session, with KPNX-12, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix. Additionally, she co-hosted “Talking Sports”, a weekly radio show that focused on the positive side of sports. Joumana also appeared in the movie, “Whiplash,” which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001. With tantalizing good looks, Ms. Kidd was named the official spokesmodel for Tereme de Salsomaggiore Skin Care in 2000. Joumana’s recent projects include hosting the ESPN Cold Hard Fan Awards, as well as a major role in the upcoming independent short film “Peephole”. She is also currently working on two independent films. One which is titled “Getting Even” in which she plays the principle role of Phillippian Owens, California’s former top advertising executive whose proposal to the love of her life has gone sour. She will also have a role in the upcoming Indy film “ReVamped” with James Van Der Beek.
Throughout her career, Joumana has consistently been active in many not-for-profit organizations such as the International Children’s Foundation, which raises money to help children with medical needs in impoverished countries. She is also the national spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League. She is currently active on several boards including the Yogi Berra Museum, the Nets/Devils Foundation and the Arizona Heart Ball and Crisis Nursery.
Joumana remains an actively devoted mother to her three children; son TJ, and twin girls Miah and Jazelle. Ms. Kidd has been able to find a healthy balance in her life between family, career and personal well-being and looks forward to new opportunities in the world of entertainment journalism and acting.
